I’m happy to remind you that a huge convention appearance is coming up this Saturday in Monroe, Michigan! There will be 200 tables of comics, art, toys, crafts, cosplay, celebrity guests, panels, and yours truly! I attended Monroe Comic Con last year as a cosplayer and it was great! It was my official first attempt at cosplaying, which makes it my one year anniversary of cosplaying. It feels much longer (especially since I’ve already placed 3rd as Lady Penguin at Redford Comic Con¬†and judged two days of Taylor Town cosplay contests in my first year)!

This year at Monroe Comic Con, I will be cosplaying as a local artist and published author and illustrator of vampire books. ūüėČ I encourage you to attend the Alloy Ash cosplay panel. I consider her my cosplay fairy godmother. She got me into cosplay after I attended a panel of hers at Motor City Comic Con 2015. I got to met her and thank her for the inspiration at Monroe last year!

In addition to my COSPLAnniversary fast approaching, I must share that today is the two-year anniversary of my first published book, Blood & Alcohol! It is available in paperback from Amazon, Createspace, my Sick Shoppe, and I will have copies at Monroe Comic Con. If you buy my first and second book together, you get 10% off at the show! See you soon!

Redford Comic Con Recap and News

redford comic con promo valentine

The Redford Comic Con happened on January 23rd, but it’s still worth talking about because it’s been my favorite comic con appearance yet. The venue was spacious, the vendors and attendees were friendly, and I gave away all my free gifts! And I can’t forget to mention that it was my FIRST LIVE INTERVIEW EVER with Crazy Mark TV!

Interview begins at the 12:30 mark

John Kalel, host of the Redford Comic Con, puts on a great con¬†and hosts several in southeast Michigan throughout the year. I look forward to being a guest at another one of his shows in the future. I’m building contacts with other artists and comic creators in the area and I’m really impressed with this community. Be sure to check out all of John’s future shows at his website, yourcomiccon.com. There is always something for everyone!

Since Redford Comic Con, I’ve also done an interview with Dark Knight News, applied to be a part of Ladies Night Anthology Volume Four, and was accepted into Artist Alley for Monroe Comic Con in October.dknlogo1

The Ladies Night Anthology is a collaboration of women comic writers, artists, and editors based out of Chicago. I was lucky to meet some of the past contributors at Comique Con in November. I applied as an artist, and if I’m accepted I will be matched up¬†with a writer and editor. I will find out if I’m accepted by the middle of this month.

I also took out a spot for Blood & Alcohol in the #indiebooksbeseen catalog for 2016. It’s a catalog of books by indie authors that ships all over the world and features a grab bag of genres. Since the style of my book is so unique I’m excited to expose it to novel readers while supporting fellow indie authors.

Meanwhile, I’m still plugging away at illustrations for Skin of the Night. I’m two drawings away from my goal for this book, but have discovered I’m probably going to need about ten more. This book will be slightly longer than the first. I thought about cutting out the entire last scene to just get it done with, but it would disrupt the flow of the series. Thank you for your patience while I juggle many hats. I promise The Sick Rose fans that it’s worth it!

Kids Cosplay Contest, My Fans & Store Updates

0

Hello, everyone! I hope you are all retaining your sanity during¬†this holiday season. Today I bring to you video footage of the Kids Cosplay Contest at the last Taylor Town Comic Con as created¬†by Crazy Mark TV. Judging the cosplay contests is the most fun I’ve ever had at a con. The other seasoned judges were very welcoming. The turnout for the kids portion of the contest is a reflection of the nasty weather we had that day. You can see for yourself in the background of the video how bad it was! Crazy Mark does a fabulous job hosting the contest and filming these types of events in the area. His videos are always entertaining. Check out his website:¬†www.crazymark.com

I also want to take this opportunity to thank my loyal fans. Activity on my facebook fan page this week is up across the board, with the exception of new “likes”. So thank you, for interacting with and sharing my page. I know facebook settings make it difficult for fan page posts to show up in the news feeds because they want us to pay for it. You can circumvent this¬†setting¬†now in a couple of different ways. First, go to my facebook page and hover your mouse over the “Liked” button. Then tweak as illustrated by the diagram below:

FB

I like to post stuff relating to vampires, comics, writing, and making art. There’s a lot of extras that you can see there as well as twitter¬†that you won’t see here. I thank you all for sharing and following me on social media. Because of you I am now nearing 500 fans across my social media platforms! I am most certain with your help I can get there by New Year’s!

As I stall on finishing my second book, I’ve added new items for purchase at the Sick Shoppe, including prints, bookmarks, and one-of-a-kind trinket boxes. I wanted to make as much as I have available to¬†purchase online for the holiday season, as I don’t have any shows scheduled for the rest of the year or yet for 2016. I will announce as show dates are booked for next year. Thank you!
