Binge on Dark Shadows this Weekend and Win Free Stuff

0

I just discovered via The Collinsport Historical Society that Decades TV Network is airing a Dark Shadows Binge this weekend! I’m happy about this perhaps becoming a Halloween tradition! To say that the show had an impact on me personally, and in my writing and art, is an understatement. The Binge is a nice way for new fans to get a crash course on the show and for us old ones to enjoy the nostalgia, whether we were running home from school to watch during it’s original airing, getting acquainted in the 90’s on the SciFi channel (“wasn’t it that weird vampire show?”), or in my case, getting the DVDs mailed to me from Netflix because someone said my Dad resembled Willie Loomis.

I’ve included a couple of pieces of Dark Shadows fan art in my Halloween Giveaway package, in addition to two signed paperback books from The Sick Rose Vampires! Enter the giveaway HERE by Halloween! I will randomly select a winner on November 1st.

Indie Book Club Starting in Ann Arbor, Michigan

1

Today is a good day! In addition to hearing the news that Barnes & Noble is going to begin carrying¬†self-published books in their stores, Elsie Earl Studios¬†has started an¬†Indie Book Club! And none other than my Skin of the Night has been selected as¬†the club’s next¬†reading on July 19th!

Elsie Earl Studios of Ann Arbor, Michigan, is a multi-purpose creative utopia dreamed up and¬†owned by Loretta Friend. I was happy in be in attendance at the grand opening/ribbon cutting ceremony held on April 30th. It is a place¬†for the local community¬†to gather together and explore different mediums of art, perhaps some they’ve never tried before. The studio provides space and time for arts & crafts, classes & workshops, as well as entertainment for all ages. The variety of activities include but are not limited to:

  • Fairy Houses
  • Laser-cut doll houses
  • Senior Crafter’s Tea
  • 3-D Painting (plaster figurines, trinket boxes, wall plaques. Same-day take-home).¬†
  • Laser cut bird houses and feeders
  • Art
    appreciation (abstract, Impressionism, watercolor, etc)
  • Music appreciation (jazz, blues, Beatles, etc,¬†with performances)
  • Slide Show Storytime
  • Human-size board games for parties and business team building

And now we may add to that list of fun an Indie Book Club! You may RSVP for Indie Book Club on facebook here!

SR 2 COVER frontSigned copies of Skin of the Night as well as my first book Blood & Alcohol are available for purchase at the studio at a discounted book club member rate offered nowhere else. You may also pick up a free copy of the 2016 #IndieBooksBeSeen catalog. This catalog will be used as a tool to choose future book club reading material as decided by the club members. Please note I will not be present at the July 19th meeting. I want people to feel free to discuss the book openly and develop their own impressions of the material. Due to my book being a 40 page graphic novella, the story will be read by group members at the meeting.

If you are an indie author, check to see if there is an indie book club in your area. You also may start your own. It’s a great way to promote your work and the work of fellow indie authors. We really do have so much to offer. If you are interested in having your book considered as a future selection for Elsie Earl Studio’s Indie Book Club, and are willing to provide a discount to the book club members as an encouragement and thank you for purchasing multiple copies of your book, please¬†contact Loretta Friend directly with information about your books at:¬†Loretta@ElsieEarlStudios.com,¬†734-646-6633

If you are an indie book reader, one of the best things you can do for an indie author is to help guide new fans to us by rating and reviewing our books on Amazon. You do not have to have purchased the books on Amazon. If you already read my books or are planning to, please rate and review them here: Book I: Blood & Alcohol & Book II: Skin of the Night

I really appreciate it!
