Taylor Town Comic Con

0

If you missed “The Big Show” this past weekend at the Taylor Town Trade Center in Taylor, Michigan, you missed a lot of fun! I was not tabling at this two day event hosted by yourcomiccon.com’s John Kalel, but I made it out Saturday to cosplay Lady Penguin with some of my friends as Batman villains and compete in the cosplay contest. The Rogues Gallery ended up getting in on this awesome DC Universe group photo after the contest.

A full write-up on the convention including three more photos of my Lady Penguin cosplay by Dark Knight News can be seen here.

If you weren’t able to make Taylor Town Comic Con, John’s next show is Ypsilanti Comic Con on September 24! I will be back behind the vendor’s table selling and signing books and art. If you’ve been holding out on attending one of the yourcomiccon.com shows, now’s the time to join us. Tickets are only $3! This will be a smaller scale one-day show packed with comics, art, toys, and cosplay. There’s a reason why I still go to all of John’s shows even when I’m not tabling. It’s called FUN! See for yourself! RSVP on facebook here: https://www.facebook.com/events/258091981249189/

I’ve also just uploaded a new promo video for The Sick Rose Vampires. It follows the journey of Elend Arcana so far in the series. All music is written and performed by yours truly! I hope you like it!

Kids Cosplay Contest, My Fans & Store Updates

0

Hello, everyone! I hope you are all retaining your sanity during this holiday season. Today I bring to you video footage of the Kids Cosplay Contest at the last Taylor Town Comic Con as created by Crazy Mark TV. Judging the cosplay contests is the most fun I’ve ever had at a con. The other seasoned judges were very welcoming. The turnout for the kids portion of the contest is a reflection of the nasty weather we had that day. You can see for yourself in the background of the video how bad it was! Crazy Mark does a fabulous job hosting the contest and filming these types of events in the area. His videos are always entertaining. Check out his website: www.crazymark.com

I also want to take this opportunity to thank my loyal fans. Activity on my facebook fan page this week is up across the board, with the exception of new “likes”. So thank you, for interacting with and sharing my page. I know facebook settings make it difficult for fan page posts to show up in the news feeds because they want us to pay for it. You can circumvent this setting now in a couple of different ways. First, go to my facebook page and hover your mouse over the “Liked” button. Then tweak as illustrated by the diagram below:

FB

I like to post stuff relating to vampires, comics, writing, and making art. There’s a lot of extras that you can see there as well as twitter that you won’t see here. I thank you all for sharing and following me on social media. Because of you I am now nearing 500 fans across my social media platforms! I am most certain with your help I can get there by New Year’s!

As I stall on finishing my second book, I’ve added new items for purchase at the Sick Shoppe, including prints, bookmarks, and one-of-a-kind trinket boxes. I wanted to make as much as I have available to purchase online for the holiday season, as I don’t have any shows scheduled for the rest of the year or yet for 2016. I will announce as show dates are booked for next year. Thank you!

Sick Shoppe is back!

I survived this crazy month of two comic book conventions!

The DoctorsFirst was Comique Con, which afforded me priceless networking opportunities with other lady comic book creators and women involved in making comic books. I was also able to attend an intersectionality and diversity in comics panel which set me on a researching mission to learn more about representing biracial main characters in The Sick Rose Vampires. I will be looking forward to reporting back on that later.

cosplay judge Rich GarlandLast weekend was Taylor Town Comic Con held during a snow storm in Michigan. The turn out was a reflection of the weather, but again allowed me to make new friends and touch base with old ones. And I had an absolute blast judging the cosplay contest!

I’m happy and grateful that I made it through doing conventions and now will have more time to get back to finishing Skin of the Night.  However, the most important thing that I wanted to share with this post is that the Sick Shoppe is back up and running for the holidays! So if you weren’t able to make it out to a con or saw something there that you liked, you can now order it online! I’m offering FREE SHIPPING on everything through Cyber Monday!
